Pengelli is a small and extremely busy, successful school, at the centre of a village community. We pride ourselves on the opportunities we offer, the results we achieve and the atmosphere that permeates throughout.

Our children are at the centre of everything we do and our last ESTYN inspection report reflected this when inspectors stated, “The care, support and guidance provided for pupils is a strength of the school”.

We believe that, whoever you are, wherever you are from and whatever your level of ability, your best is always good enough and we reflect this throughout the school where children are encouraged to give of their best academically and socially and through extra-curricular activities. We believe that by showing we expect the best, the children always give of their best and their reward comes in the successes they achieve.

Visitors to the school constantly comment on the friendly atmosphere and the excellent behaviour of the children, a situation we are justifiably proud of, but we never forget that our ultimate aim is for the children to achieve their full potential.

Children learn in an atmosphere free from fear of failure – challenged yet nurtured. Everyone has something to offer in life and is capable of achieving goals and every child can achieve their potential through equal access to an appropriate, balanced and relevant curriculum. Our children are encouraged to offer ideas and respond to developments and we attach a great deal of importance to developing confident children who can contribute to the wider world. We work hard to develop self-assurance, and self-belief and the confidence to move forward independently.
